Global Village
When Global Village started in 1996 it was situated beside the Dubai Creek, and incorporated small independant kiosks, selling products from various countries around the World.
Over 1/2million people visited the Global Village as it was then. Today the Global Village stands alone on the edge of Dubailand and is a visitor attraction in itself. Visitor figures have increased annually and the number of countries participating has also grown. Global Village is now one of Dubai's newest tourism destinations. The village itself is located on Emirates Road and brings together the customs and cultures from around the World. There are various pavilions dedicated to specific areas where you will be able to witness music, dancers and taste the cuisine of each different area or continent.
The atmosphere is electric and for those of you 
with young children or the young at heart there is also an amazing fairground. Within Global Village there are various opportunities for the young and old to learn about the World's cultures and how specific individuals live and sustain their livelyhoods.
Global Village is a must visit destination and runs in association with the Dubai Shopping Fest
ival, however the village itself is undergoing major redevelopment which does not affect the existing village but will ensure from late 2008 onwards a year round destination that will attract millions of people.
