Theme Parks in Dubai
Dubai strives to be the number one tourist resort in the world and by 2015 that dream will become a reality as tourists figures increase rapidly every year and hotel occupancy rates stand at 86% throughout the year. With tourist come children and the young at heart and of course everybody enjoys an adventure. In Dubai the world’s biggest theme park is under construction. It will be named Dubailand and it will put Disneyland into second place when it comes to the world’s best theme parks. Again we will keep you informed of the progress and a launch date.
Dubailand is located on Emirates Road and will provide easy access to all visitors it is 10 minutes from Dubai International Airport and 60 minutes from Abu Dhabi. Dubailand is a distinctive destination that will offer pure family entertainment; it will incorporate a significant amount of attractions that will be the best theme based rides in the world. There will be a huge variety of luxury themed hotels that will encourage the tourist to stay within the park. Dubailand has a planned opening date of 2008 however please note due to planning alterations this date is likely to change. There are seven sub-headings for the park they are as follows:
Theme Parks
You will be able to ride the most exciting and thrilling state of the art rides. There will be white-knuckle rides that will even scare the hardened thrill seeker. You will be able to ride the biggest Ferris Wheel in the world, as well as swim in warm crystal waters with thousands of tropical fish, dolphins and even sharks swimming around you. The theme park itself will offer something for everyone; plans are to build a machine which will allow you to fly simulated over the Antarctic along with the biggest snowdome in the world being built enabling all levels of skiers to enjoy skiing as close to the real thing as possible. They are even building a modern day Jurassic Park with more than 100 motorised Dinosaurs. This will truly be the best theme park in the world.
Science and Planetariums
Dubailand will thrill parents and children alike with a world class science attraction where budding astronaughts can learn about rockets, spacecrafts and enjoy lifelike simulation rides. This section will use state of the art technology and allow the visitors to watch amazing laser show as well as the biggest 3Dmovies in the world.
Culture and Art
The theme park will offer more than just the chance to jump from ride to ride. There will be lots of displays within the park relating to culture, art, history etc… Entwined with information showss as well as the most glittering spectacular broadway style shows the culture and art section will enable the visitor to learn whilst they play.
Sport and Sport Academy’s
Dubailand will be home to renowned sports academy’s enabling fans of cricket, motor racing, horseracing, athletics, rugby, hockey and football to share their passion with people from around the globe.
Well Being and Health
Dubailand will present an amazing wellbeing and health section. You will be able to relax, your body, soul and rejuvenate yourself in the many luxury spas and health centres.
Shopping
Anybody who has visited Dubai will realise that this city is now a shopping centre to the world. Within Dubailand the biggest shopping centre on the planet will be built confirming Dubai as a shopper’s paradise.
Resorts and Hotels
Dubai is already home to the worlds most famous hotel, the resort will hold over 60 new hotels including a hotel designed to resemble a cruise ship, a hotel designed as a snow resort along with for the first time a selection of 6* deluxe hotels, some themed, some overlooking golf courses, and some overlooking the desert. There will be nearly 60,000 rooms available within the park ensuring Dubai can cater for the expected visitor influx when the park is officially opened.

Wild Wadi Park

This water park is a themed water park based around the friends of Sinbad. It covers an area of 12acres and has 23 aquatic rides to suit all ages. In the park you will be able to float leisurely around a seductive waterway or be blasted around a high powered thrill seeking water jet ride and for the real thrill seekers Wild Wadi has the tallest and fastest free fall waterslide outside of America.
Al-Nasr Leisureland

This is Dubai’s oldest theme park which opened in October 1979. It covers an area of 48 acres; it is a centre for sports and entertainment all under one roof. The centre itself also caters for evening entertainment and is a regular meeting point for locals and expats alike.
Dreamland Aqua Park

This park is approx 35minutes outside Dubai in an area called Umm Al Quwain, it has over 25 thrilling water rides and is set in 250,000 square metres of lush green grounds. For the thrill seekers there are rides such as the black hole, kamikaze and the amazing 4 twisting dragons. There are a variety of restaurants and cafes and there is also a licensed pool bar. For those of you who do not want to go home there is also a special overnight camping facility and the park will provide a tent or a local cabana hut.
Ski Dubai

Whilst in Dubai if the temperature outside is to hot for you and you fancy doing something you only thought possible in a snow resort visit Ski Dubai based in the Emirates Shopping Mall; here you will find a truly jaw dropping sight. People stand at the glass windows and watch for hours as skiers fly by, and children build snowmen, even if you do not want to go skiing this is a must see attraction.
This is no ordinary ski slope , it has fully operational ski lifts along with 5 different runs, the longest being over 400m. The highest point for experienced skiers is more than 60m! This is the worlds first indoor black run.
It is advisable to bring your own ski gloves as these are the only item not supplied by the ski centre. Prices are very affordable, the equivalent of approximately £20 for a 2 hour session. A day pass can be purchased for approximately £34!
