Driving Licenses in Dubai
Whilst in Dubai you may need to obtain a drivers license, to do this you must be a resident of the UAE with an up to date resident visa. This visa must be issued in Dubai and the minimum age to obtain a drivers license is 18.
If you already have a drivers license from any of the GCC countries, then you can transfer to a dubai drivers license without having to take any lessons or tests. You need only do this if you are planning to live in Dubai. If y
ou decide to transfer your license it must be valid, you must supply one passport size photograph, your original passport, your original drivers license, a full up to date eye test and a fee of 100dirhams. If your driving license is not already in English or Arab is then you will have to pay to have it translated.
Please note should you hold an Indian drivers license or an indian international license, th
ey are not valid in the UAE and you will have to take a new driving test to obtain a new license.
